Automation Failure

In the past couple weeks I've had two phone calls from different automated services. I didn't end up answering either one and let my voicemail take the calls. Neither of these services appears to be able to deal with voicemail. It appears like they started playing the automated message as soon as my voicemail picked up, leaving me with a fragment of a message in both cases. These messages were undecipherable on their own. With some outside context and correlating messages I've never had before with unusual events I'm undertaking I was able to guess as to what the message may have meant and who it was from, but I still didn't actually get the jist of whatever they were trying to tell me. I don't think I've missed out on anything, but it certainly would be easy to. Yet more examples of the great customer service we get these days.
